County Creates COVID-19 Resource Line For Those Without Internet

Wayne County volunteers are now staffing a local help line to connect those without internet to food assistance, county social services, unemployment and business resources and more. The COVID-19 Resource Line is 866-253-5986. Through the Wayne Tomorrow! collaboration, the county has assembled a master list of organizations and agencies providing food assistance, financial and mental health resources and made it available online. There are also other websites with excellent information for local businesses, non-profits, and other sites to help those who are seeking work, unemployment assistance and more, but not everyone has online access. Library volunteers will be on hand from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays during the crisis to answer questions from anyone who calls about how and where to seek assistance for a variety of needs. The agencies include Aging, Behavioral Health, Children & Youth Services, Drug & Alcohol Commission, Housing and Transportation.

After hours, community members are welcome to call 2-1-1 for service referrals.
