HARMONY in HAWLEY

By LA Guzda

For years, many of us have enjoyed the outstanding music performances of Harmony Presents. First at the Silk Mill, upstairs that is now an art gallery. Then, downstairs to the Boiler Room. Each time elevating the talent and the atmosphere. And now… Harmony in the Woods.

Performance is in our Nature… Beginning in July, this intimate theater nestled in the pine and oak forests of Hawley, will elevate once again. The calendar of events is chock-full of incredible talent! Music for a variety of tastes as well as firelight storytelling events and more are offered for this summer.  I was exciting to see Loudon Wainwright III will be performing August 21st!

Through the challenges of Covid, the construction and planning continued to bring the community this beautiful new jewel. A lot of hard work, passion and commitment from many people went into making this happen. Our job is to support and enjoy it! Their mission is to enlighten and engage the human spirit by giving platform for artistic discoveries and life-long reflection and learning, nestled amongst the trees in our Hawley amphitheater.

Harmony in the Woods is located on Route 6, between the rock-cut and North of the Border Fireworks. There is onsite parking available. Bring your own chairs, blankets and snacks.  Tickets for all Friday and Saturday evening performances are $25 and $35 (except for Loudon Wainwright III which is $30 and $40).

The Foundation for Harmony Presents is a charitable 501c3 organization that believes in cultivating individual and communal growth through performing and cultural arts education and performance for all ages, interests and perspectives. They are dedicated to ensuring this programming with thoughtfully crafted core values of environmental stewardship, arts accessibility and educational enrichment. The foundation strives to be an expression of the best parts of who they are as dreamers and doers.
