Last month I wrote about Billy’s New Hope Barn, a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for rescued farm animals. Billy’s New Hope Barn resides on the Bunting Farm. Thank you to all of you who donated. If you forgot, now is a good time.
The other fun thing about the Bunting Farm is that they offer farm stays. Formerly a working dairy farm, the farm has been hosting guests for decades. They offer three cabins overlooking Lake Cajaw, each with their own grill, picnic bench and fire pit. Each cabin offers two bedrooms, kitchen and living room. The kitchen has everything you need. You bring your own sheets and towels. They’re not fancy. But they do have a certain charm. I would describe it as “Farmhouse rustic kitsch”.
The farm also offers glamping with one 10×10 tent on site also overlooking the lake.
Your only minutes from Main Street in Honesdale. Honesdale offers many dining options as well as great shopping. Stop by the Wayne County Historical Society for an interesting education on the area’s past.
The Bunting Farm invites guests to participate in the feeding, cleaning, playing and general care of the animals, of which there are many. More than just a city escape, it is an experience.
