{"id":965,"date":"2020-05-05T14:42:17","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T14:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goodstuffconnections.com\/?p=965"},"modified":"2020-05-05T14:42:19","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T14:42:19","slug":"pike-county-couple-survives-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodstuffconnections.com\/index.php\/2020\/05\/05\/pike-county-couple-survives-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Pike County Couple Survives COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Lorraine Klein worried about her husband Steve, she says, more than herself but it turned out they both had COVID-19 at the same time.\u00a0 The Hemlock Farms, Pike County, couple, both in their seventies, were both feeling poorly, but Steve had a fever and trouble breathing. Still, one day after calling an ambulance for her husband, Lorraine found herself being admitted to the same unit on <a href=\"http:\/\/WWW.WMH.ORG\">Wayne Memorial Hospital\u2019s<\/a> COVID19 containment floor.\u00a0 While Steve was in the hospital longer \u2013 nine days compared to Lorraine\u2019s seven\u2014neither had to be put on a ventilator.\u00a0 \u201cI was so nervous about the disease,\u201d says Lorraine, who has asthma, \u201cbut I actually felt better in the hospital because everything was there if anything went wrong.\u201d Steve was discharged on oxygen but three weeks later he was able to walk short distances without it.\u00a0 The couple is originally from Queens, New York, but they have lived in Pike County since 1998.
