That is why Greater Pike Community Foundation is pleased to be granting four of Pike County\u2019s food pantries $2,000 each to help them help those suffering from the effect of the crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grants from the Greater Pike Covid Relief Fund (GPCRF) were awarded to the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Milford, the Good Cheer Food Pantry at St. Luke\u2019s in Greeley, the Holy Trinity Food Pantry in Dingmans Ferry and the St. Ann\u2019s Bridgepoint Food Pantry in Shohola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is a growing and urgent need in our area to alleviate hunger,\u201d said Greater Pike\u2019s Executive Director Jenni Hamill. \u201cThe Greater Pike Covid Relief Fund was established to support organizations like our local food pantries where supplies are diminishing daily.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That need is evident at the Ecumenical Food Pantry, where Director Nancy Potter says the demand has nearly doubled. \u201cWe used to serve forty families. Now it\u2019s up to seventy. Twenty new people signed up in the last two weeks alone.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara Hupfer at Holy Trinity Food Pantry said she is seeing one new family every day, \u201cWe used to see two to three families a month,\u201d she explained.
